Technical Affairs Coordinator
nanoTox®, Austin, Texas
Unique opportunity for the right person. nanoTox®, Inc. is an emerging international company engaged in the safety assessment of various nanomaterials and nanodevices using a variety of physicochemical and toxicological tests. The company is in need of a Technical Affairs Coordinator to assist with the management of testing and risk assessment operations at its U.S. laboratory facility located near the airport in Austin, Texas. Experience and qualifications desired for this position include:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a degree in a scientific discipline including coursework in life sciences and chemistry.
- Minimum 5 years research laboratory experience (life sciences or chemistry)
- Minimum 2 years experience with U.S. agency-regulated Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) experience (FDA and/or EPA).
- Ability to take direction and translate to laboratory activities as required
- Able to work well with others as well as independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills
- SOP writing, record keeping, technical writing, computer skills (database, word processing, spreadsheets). Experience with Microsoft Project is desirable.
- Equipment operation - analytical balance, pH meter, UV/Vis spectroscopy, chromatography
- Hazardous materials handling, storage and disposal
- Sample receiving, archiving, packaging & shipping operations
- Lab organization, cleaning and security experience desired
- Basic knowledge of cell and tissue culture desired.
- Laboratory/administrative supervisory experience desired - 2 years
- Administrative experience, including Microsoft Office and basic office skills.
- Experience with laboratory administration, instrumentation, data handling & reporting
- Contract/Project Management experience desired
This is a full time position that reports to the Chief Scientific Officer of the company and will require a minimum of 40 hours per week. The position is currently budgeted competitively for the Austin, Texas area and has significant growth and advancement potential as well as an opportunity for an increased role, compensation, and responsibilities in the near future.
