Environment Canada (EC)

Like most governments, Canada is using existing chemical and environmental regulations to control the use and disposal of nanomaterials.  In September, 2007 EC published a Proposed Regulatory Framework For Nanomaterials Under The Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 that discusses the potential regulatory actions that EC may need to take to protect the health and environment from exposures to nanomaterials.  The framework can be found here: http://www.ec.gc.ca/subsnouvelles-newsubs/default.asp?lang=En&n=FD117B60-1
